I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this sauce!!!! This will be "1 and but" BBQ sauce from now on. It'southward thick, sweet and spicy and beautiful in colour! To attempt it out..first I cut the servings to 12. I followed the scaled measurements except but used a compression of cayenne and chili powder. Concern was it may exist too spicy for kids. I did not have celery seed, then I had to leave it out. If you similar a sweet and spicy sauce you must try this recipe. I will use this on chicken, pulled pork and ribs. UPDATE: I've made this again using the celery seed and think I like the sense of taste without it. Also for a prissy thick sauce information technology is necessary to simmer on depression for at least xx minutes.

Great! For anyone who like'due south sweetness baby rays brand barbeque sauce, this is information technology! And advice to anyone wanting to get in, don't leave out the liquid smoke! I didn't accept whatever, so I was just going to leave it out, but then my Dad offered to buy me some and when we added it it was SO much better and actually added to the flavor. Only suggestions are that oil tin be substituted for the butter or left out alltogether, the molasses can be reduced and it'due south still sweetness, and the chili powder, cayenne, and pepper should probably be doubled. Red pepper is also wonderful for the season.

This is a Bang-up sauce! I am catering a wedding reception the end of this month and needed a sauce I could call my own, so my kitchen was tore upwardly from the floor up! I measured the spices and saved them for afterward, then I mixed up the liquids over a slow flame, I did not have whatsoever red wine vinegar, simply I did take some marsala I mixed 1/4c. and the balance I used of white vinegar, I did non add the butter, I figured the fat from the meat would be enough and I wanted it to have some table time. The sauce tasted good but it had no depth, I simply used 3 teaspoons of liquid smoke, and permit it simmer for a while. Once I added the spices it was the bomb! This is the best sauce I have ever tasted. The spices are fantastic!! Whoever thought cinnamon would work in a bbq sauce? I told my husband, nosotros take to go get a piece of meat to go with the sauce. Thank you for sharing, this is great!! I besides simmered it for most 1 1/2 hours to thicken, Uuummm finger licken practiced!! I will serve it with pulled pork and baked craven, I am sure you could serve this with fingernails, and toe-jams.information technology is so goooood!

I meliorate add my comment, since I have been using the sauce for months. After using this recipe, you can end searching for the perfect KC BBQ sauce. You only need two BBQ sauce recipes, KC and Texas. This volition fill your KC slot.

I grew upwards in S Carolina and this BBQ sauce is the closest I've come up to having a "gustation of dwelling house". I made it when my son and his fraternity buddies were coming to Blacksburg for a football game weekend and even with a tripled recipe of pork, I didn't have a drop left. My son didn't believe everything was homemade. I used the slow cooker pork BBQ recipe with bouillon and coffee and poured this sauce over after shredding the pork. Didn't modify a thing on either recipe!!

Al must be holding something back if this is his restaurant version! This Barbeque Sauce needs some tweaking-Cutting way back on the Ruby-red Vino Vinegar, double the spices (not the salt) and more Liquid Smoke. Also, utilize half tomato sauce and half tomato paste simmer near 10 min. longer than the recipe suggests-This will give you lot a thicker sauce.
06/03/2008
I have found THE one BBQ sauce. No more than store bought awful ones hither! I made just as is (simply halved the recipe= 1 1/two C) and I simmered it for about 50 minutes. The side by side day information technology was dainty and thick. The liquid fume is a not bad season in this (a must!), and mellows out by the next day. I also used a pinch of cayenne, so the kids could eat information technology. I used this on some pulled pork, adjacent it'll proceed grilled chicken. Adjacent time I'll make the total batch to proceed on hand.
08/18/2002
I used the sauce for beef ribs. Whow! The ribs were out of this world. I braised the meat and then let information technology cook in a crock pot in the sauce for some hours - the ribs were fall-autonomously tender and oh, and so delicious!
09/03/2007
This is an incredible bbq sauce recipe. I followed directions exactly. Took ii beautiful slabs of ribs, precooked them in very low temp oven with a bit of red wine, so grilled them with some garlic rosemary, and so separated them and put them back in over with large al's sauce for another hr on very depression temp. Amazing! It was a oversupply pleaser.

Wow, this BBQ sauce is scrump-dilly-ious! I've tried a lot of BBQ recipes through the years and thought I'd never discover the perfect one. Well, this is it! I did make a few changes per my tastes, but I notwithstanding gave information technology v stars considering we all have unique tastes, therefore it's be nearly incommunicable to make all people happy. I'grand documenting my changes for my future use. I used ane cup apple cider vinegar instead of the ruddy wine vinegar, I decrease the table salt and pepper to ane/2 teaspoon each, I used smokey paprika, I added 1 teaspoon dry mustard, 2 tablespoons stale onions, i T wor. sauce, 1 tablespoon honey and 1 teaspoon cumin. These additions are my tastes, not considering the BBQ needed any changes. The residuum of the ingr. I kept the same. Don't leave out the liquid smoke or it just won't taste like BBQ sauce. For those who said the liquid smoke has an artificial gustation, it mellows into the sauce leaving a smokey flavor after it simmers a while. Next time I'll add chipolte chilies in adobo sauce for a hot fly version and maybe some roasted garlic in the butter. This made 1 and 1/2 quarts of liquid goodness. I actually appreciate y'all list this recipe. I tin't wait to apply information technology for the fourth of July family unit gathering! P.S. This wasn't spicy at all, so if you want a spicy sauce you lot'll have to add more than cayenne. Nosotros had this on pulled pork sandwiches and my son reluctantly tried it and loved it. I was shocked! LOL
07/17/2005
This recipe is very unproblematic and tastes neat. Not too sweet, not too spicy. And just about 30 minutes to make.
06/30/2002
I've tried many bbq sauce recipes, simply this is truly the best!
01/21/2009
***SUBSTITUTE FOR ane Cup OF MOLASSES: i loving cup honey; or 3/4 cup firmly packed chocolate-brown sugar; or 1 loving cup dark corn syrup; or 1 cup pure maple syrup.*** I'm so glad I found this recipe. I made the recipe exactly which made about four cups. I only used i/ii for ribs so I have some left over!
06/25/2011
Its difficult to describe how adept this sauce is! Followed recipe to a T. After reading many reviews I added 1 tsp. dry mustard and cumin, 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce and honey also added 2 tbsp. dried onions. Then brought it to a slight boil and simmered information technology for at least an hour. As it cooled I spent the evening coasting by and dipping my finger and pieces of bread into it. WOW is this ever tasty! Can't wait to endeavour information technology on chicken and ribs. Cheers for sharing Big Al. Yous my friend are a stud!

This sauce is "The Stuff!!!". The first time I tried this recipe was actually out of necessity. Necessity meaning we had some baby dorsum ribs to barbeque and we didn't realize nosotros were completely out of store bought bottled sauce and I was too lazy to change my clothes to brand a run to the store so I decided to make a quick search online to see if I could observe a skilful sauce recipe and perchance I'd be lucky plenty to take all the ingredients to make information technology. (Too much information? Oh well.) Anyway, I did but happened to accept all the ingredients to brand half the original recipe corporeality and I was so impressed at the flavor of this homemade sauce that a week later I made a double batch of this wonderful stuff, cooked information technology way downwards thick and spicy, h2o bath canned five pints and saved the rest (about another pint) in a rinsed out ketchup bottle that was just emptied for part of the recipe. The recipe (followed to the letter and cooked downward thick) has excellent season as it is. But I can see myself in the future changing it upwards a bit by substituting fresh ingredients for the powdered and making it a chunky version using fresh tomatoes, onions, garlic and cayenne peppers. And mayhap going heavy on the garlic and adding cilantro and basil all from my garden. I give this recipe five+ stars and I will probably never use store bought BBQ sauce again.
06/02/2010
EDITED in 2014: Definitely an easy 5 stars. This is the best homemade bbq sauce I take ever prepared and I have been making information technology for quite some time. Such a cute rich color and the blend of spices is correct on the marking. Alan certain does know what he is doing. Cheers for sharing.

I haven't posted a recipe review in years on this site, and had even permit my business relationship lapse. I created a new account But to rate this recipe! Start of all, and I normally DONT alter a recipe the first fourth dimension I try it, I had no ground mustard and no idea what sort of molasses to use, so I subbed honey. This sauce is the most perfect BBQ sauce I have e'er tried...my stride dad made it first true to reipe and information technology instantly remined me of the sauce put on the ribs at a certain famous Beale Street, Memphis buffet. However, when I used the honey for my own batch, it knocked everyone'south socks off! The texture is perfect for grilling, marinating and fifty-fifty dipping. When I am in a time ready, I boil chicken breasts in water until done, drain, and so coat with this sauce and put under the oven broiler for a wonderful faux bbq grilled craven. I highly recommend using the honey, and not altering the recipe in ANY other manner! (Be careful when grilling with honey, it scorches fast!) This recipe makes enough to share AND keep, and I am ashamed to say that the longer I keep it airtight in my fridge, the better it gets... By the mode, I am as well ashamed to say that when people tell me that I should canteen and sell "my" bbq sauce, I never admit that it really isn't my own! Thank you, Big Al, for my new title equally BBQ Queen!!!!
02/02/2011
No need to alter a thing - excellent!!
06/28/2010
This is a actually decent home-made charcoal-broil sauce. I probably won't make any other kind anymore. I love the alloy of spices. A "trivial bit of a kick" is an understatement, though, and I love all things spicy. I approximate I was hoping for a milder spice for my kids, but my married man and I will love it, anyways. I simmered this for half an hr for a thicker sauce...just similar we like it!
09/29/2003
After searching for years for a skilful bottled BBQ Sauce I gave upward and started searching for DIY recipes...I plant it! I now make this sauce in quantity and have it in quarts. None ameliorate.
06/28/2010
This is ane tasty sauce. I've never had Sweet Baby Ray'south, so I have no comparisons. This is a sweet and tangy sauce. I ended up cooking information technology for about 1 one/2 hours. The sauce was still fairly thin, but thickened up well after it was off the oestrus. Tasted skilful on bbq chicken drumsticks. My simply issue I had is that information technology has seemed to take lost some of the heat after sitting in the fridge for a 24-hour interval. All in all, this is probably the best sauce I've e'er had.
01/29/2011
Boilerplate at best. I thought I'd give it try based on the 600+ reviews, oh well. I'm making it as I write this, I keep tweaking the spices and accept doubled and tripled cayenne and paprika looking for some heat. I've added some allspice, trying to replicate my favorite KC fashion sauce- Hayward's, order some for yourself, it'southward amazing.
02/10/2011
Fabulous! I've used this on pork back ribs, chicken, and this night pulled pork - delicious every time! I've bought BBQ sauce from the butcher, so ordered online from Colorado, and then bought KC Masterpiece (since the consumer mag rated it number one). This tops them all! I made a big batch last fourth dimension and froze one-half of it. Defrosted in no time and was just as practiced! Thanks!
06/30/2004
WONDERFUL!!! Beingness a Kansas Citian myself, this is what KC is all about...EXCELLENT BBQ SAUCE. Everyone who tries information technology LOVES it. Information technology tends to be a bit sparse, then I cook it quite a bit longer for the desired thickness. THANKS Large AL!
04/30/2005
two words - DA Bomb. I used this sauce on both beef and pork ribs. My guests were asking for more. A few fifty-fifty wanted some to accept home. Excellent recipe.
08/09/2011
Very good! I ran out of red wine vinegar so I had to sub about 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar; also, I had no celery seed so I used celery common salt for the salt. We used about half on some barbecue chicken. Next time I might add some jalapeno or other chili pepper - the sauce is very sugariness and I recall a piffling more spice would be overnice in this.
01/24/2011
This is the absolute BEST! I have made it twice. The first time I followed the recipe exactly and the 2nd time I substituted homemade ketchup for the tomato plant sauce (making it 4 cups of homemade ketchup in all). Both times were a large striking.
12/24/2009
The gustation of the vinegar was overwhelming. My son and I did not similar this but my hubby did. Exercise not make unless you lot are a vinegar fan.
10/25/2003
I have been looking for a corking KC sauce to make at home. This is it. The merely reason I didn't give a ***** is that I similar it with a piffling more kick, but this is great recipe. As proficient every bit advertised!
06/29/2011
This sauce is awesome! I left out the celery seeds and used gold corn syrup instead of the molasses. I found it reached a nice, thick sauce consistency after simmering for 25 minutes.
08/26/2011
Add my name to the list that finds this to be a super BBQ sauce.
05/15/2011
This is a swell sauce--the kickoff I've tried that was a little more than circuitous in its flavorings. Our favorite KC place is Oklahoma Joes. This sauce is close to theirs, but non equally hot, then I added Scarlet Pepper, enough of black pepper, more celery seed and a flake more cayenne. At present we're talkin!
06/27/2011
This sauce is really good! I made information technology tonight when I realized I was out of bottled sauce. I didn't have the liquid fume, and I omitted the butter; otherwise I followed exactly. I beloved the residuum betwixt the vinegar and the sugariness--perfect! I will exist using this recipe from now on instead of the bottled sauce.
01/05/2012
This was my first attempt at making my ain BBQ sauce. I followed the directions exactly and information technology turned out perfectly! Anybody loved it!! I volition never buy bottled sauce again.
08/07/2011
5 Stars, that's all I accept to say almost that!
04/27/2011
This is exactly what I was hoping for. I couldn't notice liquid smoke so I had to exercise without, but still, v stars! Thanks Alan.
07/13/2011
I rarely, if ever, give 5 star ratings, simply practiced gracious does this one deserve information technology!! This is an fantabulous sauce. I made it one time and have never looked back. I will *never* buy some other bottled sauce once more!! After making this sauce a few times - it'due south now a staple at my house - I tweaked it -which happened by accident from my not reading the recipe correctly - and used smoked paprika instead of regular (my choice), increased the cinnamon and chili pulverisation to 1/two tsp. This is definately a keeper! GOOD LUCK!!!
03/31/2011
Absolutely Perfect the way information technology is. No need for any tweaks. Sooo proficient. Will never buy store bbq sauce again.
08/12/2011
I've tried many sauce recipes, just this has the best sense of taste ever. Used information technology over pork in a boring cooker overnight, and was beyond pleased with the results. It's rare to find a recipe that I don't need to 'tweak' to my own liking.
09/04/2011
My first, and this far only, bbq sauce I've made. Honey information technology!!! I tin can consume this stuff on its own with a spoon.
05/09/2011
i've fabricated this sauce a few times and information technology is bang-up. its one of the best bbq sauces i've always had. there have been times that i didn't accept enough cherry wine vinegar so i also used some apple cider vinegar, i really like the flavour the apple tree cider vinegar adds. this sauce also keeps well in the fridge and so brand the whole batch.
05/22/2011
I think this is smashing; All the same, I prefer a more sweet taste over the vinegar taste. I doubled the molasses, chocolate-brown sugar, butter, and spices. I did 6 teaspoons of the liquid fume. I rated information technology 5 stars because it was proficient the way it was, I just prefer a molasses base of operations instead of a vinegar base of operations.
05/22/2005
this is a easy sauce to brand.my hubby beloved information technology .it tastes so good.thank you
12/29/2010
This is an Amazing sauce. I make it in large quantities and jar it using the hot water bath canning method. Pint jars, process about 30 minutes (less might be fine but you lot tin can't overcook it or annihilation so amend safe than sorry). The small-scale amount of butter concerned me at first merely it hasn't been a problem.
06/11/2006
Qiurky as it may be I ofttimes brainstorm to write a review before I have even start to brand a recipe. This one I began past giving it glowing accolades then got a bit concerned I would have to edit. I wanted some adept bootleg sauce for my pulled pork sandwiches. Amazingly, even down to the coarsely ground black pepper, I had all the ingredients and made this EXACTLY as written. I opted to practice the cooking/simmering in my microwave, stirring every few minutes until it thickened like I wanted. Tasting this sauce equally you cook it is not sweet; it's very, very tangy. Beware, this stuff is articulate your sinuses vinegary tangy! But don't exist likewise quick to judge (don't submit a premature review!) until you really put it on the meat. My pulled pork sandwiches were great and I'll brand this again. The vinegar mellows out considerably.
02/26/2011
This was the best bootleg recipe yet! I added 2 tabular array spoons of worchesire sauce and that seemed to make the differance for me. I also cooked it twic equally long to thicken it upwards.
08/xiii/2011
I used everything except the celery seed and the cayenne and information technology was nifty! Thanks for this!
05/17/2010
Very good- I used liquid mesquite-flavored smoke with groovy results.... FYI, the Dollar Shop sells both kinds :-)
07/31/2011
Very Good! I was looking for a BBQ sauce recipe I could "tweek" to suite my taste and finally constitute success! This is a very sugariness sauce so I cut down the dark-brown sugar to 3/four cup instead of ane i/4 cup. (Nonetheless very sweet) I besides cutting the molasses down to 1/4 loving cup. I doubled the spices but Circumspection: very spicy this way and may not suite the pallet for picayune ones. I however dearest spicey and so this was fantastic! Besides I omitted the butter bc it didn't seem like necessary calories and did not have celery seed. This volition exist my new sauce for BBQ pulled pork sandwiches! Thank you for the recipe!
05/13/2011
An astonishing sauce! Celery common salt works well instead of celery seed, and I doubled the amounts for everything except the ketchup and tomato sauce, because i could taste that it had a ketchup base. Now it is molassas based and DeLiCiOuS!! :)
09/01/2011
This sauce is the BEST! I double the spice merely continue everything else the same, I besides add a secret ingredient (never will tell) that really brings out the flavor and everyone compliments me on the sauce I use, this is THE BEST! Thanks Big Al!
07/04/2010
Truly infrequent barbeque sauce!! My decision to make information technology was very last minutes, and so I was restriced to ingredients on hand which meant a couple of changes had to exist made. The showtime change was zippo more than than using celery pulverisation instead of seed, every bit I was out. The second change was a bit more than pregnant. I don't keep molasses on hand, but I practice keep honey and then I used that. Because I know the molasses would lend a great depth of flavor that honey can't affect, I added 1/2 cup of really strong brewed coffee (to the recipe I halved) and it was wonderful, although I did simmer it about an hour to cook downward the extra liquid the coffee added. I look forrad to making information technology with the molasses as called for. Thanks for a beautiful recipe!
08/14/2011
First-class equally is! I had to improvise on the red wine vinegar since I didn't accept - ratio 1/two cup of red vino + 1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar
08/14/2011
Amazing. Left this at the girlfriend's place and they ended upward using it on only most everything! This recipe makes a lot, so I ended upward purchase a big ketchup bottle (for the recipe), cleaned out the remaining ketchip, and used the bottle for the leftover BBQ sauce, made it easy to serve subsequently on.
06/17/2011
I usually employ a bottled sauce (there are some adept ones) just considering I don't accept ribs oftentimes. But a couple of weeks ago we had a crowd over for a backyard BBQ. I didn't want to accept bottled sauce so I decided to requite this a effort. Information technology was wonderful and quite a success, everyone wanted to know the recipe and I don't concur back on recipes so I told everyone about "AllRecipes" and "Large Al's K.C. BBQ Sauce" Thanks Alan Arthur for posting it.
04/x/2011
Good sauce! Only added little over one-half the vinegar, will go less next time. Added more spice, onion powder northward splash of burbon wiskey!
08/08/2011
I've never made BBQ sauce earlier, yet, after making this, I incertitude if I would e'er buy bottled again. Nosotros all really liked it. I did use a liitle less cayenne than the recipe chosen for due to our kids. Next fourth dimension, I am making actress and will freeze some.
03/05/2011
This is, hands down, the BEST BBQ sauce I've ever had, (and I'm a BBQ lover, and then believe me - I've tried a lot of BBQ sauces)! If KC style sauce is your affair, and then this is your sauce.
07/08/2011
This was very good. Will definitely brand information technology again. Recommended it to many people at piece of work. I advise buying the squeezable bottle of ketchup that equals 2 cups. I actually had 2 cups of leftover sauce that I put back in the cleaned out squeezable ketchup bottle and had sauce all week long. Nice and handy manner to go along information technology.
07/31/2011
really super yummy!!! and y'all tin can't really mess information technology upwardly. I like how you tin can conform the seasonings to your liking. My kiddos love this on ribs.
01/04/2011
Perfect!!!
05/03/2011
Excellent! I will merely demand to cut downwards on the cayenne pepper only because its a piddling on the spicier side...I volition make again and use on tedious cooker meats like pork, chicken and beefiness.
03/02/2011
Wow, is this sauce expert. I didn't realize the recipe fabricated and so much. I approximate I will freeze the rest. I didn't add liquid smoke as our family hates that "fake" taste. Other than that I followed the recipe to a T and we all loved it.
10/03/2011
The Best recipe for bbq sauce I've ever fabricated! I made half a recipe to use with my pork ribs and now I wish I would have made the whole batch~ Thanks so much for sharing this fantastic sauce recipe!
02/07/2011
This is my go to BBQ recipe, admittedly love it. I follow the recipe exactly and it turns out amazing every single fourth dimension.
07/04/2011
This sauce is amazing! My little boy is allergic to fake preservatives and and so I take been looking for a skilful BBQ Sauce to make...this is the best one I've tried! I didn't have Ruby Vino Vinegar so I used but plain Vinegar and information technology was delicous. It reminded me of Southern BBQ dorsum home with the vinegar taste. I'one thousand going to make it this fourth dimension with the RWV and see which I like best. Thank you "Big Al" for this recipe....You lot Rock!
03/22/2011
Other than scaling this by a quarter to but make 12 servings I followed the recipe to a *T* It is EXACTLY what I was looking for to accompany my boring cooked BBQ smoked pulled pork... delicious! Thanks for a winning recipe, it has been added to my permanent recipe book file
08/16/2011
this recipe was awsome. i held out on a cup of vinegar du e to not liking the vinegary gustation simply over all information technology was a taste grabber!
02/13/2011
I love this recipe! It'southward great for pulled pork sandwiches, meatballs, chicken strips and great to drizzle over a unproblematic grilled chicken breast. I follow the recipe word for word and it has never failed me. I practice, notwithstanding, forget to add the butter each time but it seems to exist okay without it. This is only BBQ sauce I ever make!
09/09/2010
This BBQ sauce is succulent! I fabricated it to use equally a condiment for pulled pork sandwiches that I had prepared using a spice rub. Everyone loved it. It is so much improve than common shop bought sauce. In that location is a place for convenience, of course, only given just a niggling bit of fourth dimension, you can brand this with very little effort. I always check reviews before I make somehting from AR. As of today, this recipe has been reviewed 581 times with an boilerplate 5-star review. ii/i-star reviews, zero ii-star reviews, 16/3-star reviews and 563 4 or 5-star reviews!! The reviewers that gave this recipe i and iii star reviews said most often they thought it was either too sweet or too vinegary . . . . . makes me wonder if they really know what Kansas Urban center BBQ Sauce is supposed to taste like!!
04/25/2011

02/07/2012
I have fabricated this sauce (a dbl. batch) at least 4 times for our family reunions. They beloved information technology and inquire for information technology every time we get together. I would like to visit Big Al'due south restaurant if this is any indication of the food he serves. I follow the recipe exactly as written. This sauce keeps very well in the refrigerator...and so in that location'south no need to worry if there's extra left.
08/21/2011
Anybody who tastes this sauce wants the recipe. Even my picky brother in law was seen pouring some into a plastic container to accept home. Now that'southward the ultimate compliment.
09/22/2011
I retrieve this is the best tomato-based non-store bought sauce. I followed the recipe exactly and might reduce the celery seed to a 1/4 tsp adjacent time (could be my celery seed), but after trying many, many other recipes, I observe this to exist the best. No more looking for me!
09/24/2011

04/29/2011
I commonly purchase Kraft Honey Hickory but I like this much better. Boyfriend raved about it but would like it hotter next fourth dimension...to me it was only right. It is sweet and tangy with a niggling fiery oestrus. It's too a perfect consistancy. No more bottled barbeque sauce in this house again! Cheers!
07/24/2011
Its okay. Tastes commercial.

I used this sauce on ribs, I broiled the ribs in the oven for 2 1/ii hours at 300 then threw them on the grill and basted them on low heat for 30 minutes. They were to die for, better than most restaurants I've gone to! I'm going to attempt this sauce on pork chops on the grill tonight.

Amazing, especially when basted onto chicken on the bbq. I didn't have one-half the spices when I fabricated it & substituted 1 one/two tbs of Emeril's Essence & I simply had a loving cup of red wine vinegar. It even so turned out astonishing.

The sauce was adept merely a petty runny. I had to melt it and then long to thicken information technology it became bitter.

This has been the striking of our summer barbeques. I have made this 4 times and served over ribs and chicken. Guaranteed, this is "finger-licking" good! I detest to see summer end here in Massachusetts. I usually use barbeque sauce only in the summertime only, with this recipe I might accept to change my ways! I prepare this a couple of days ahead allowing flavors to blend. It likewise saves on prep the solar day of. I take contradistinct the amount of ruddy cayenne to 1/four teaspoon (personal taste) otherwise, I have followed this recipe exactly and it has not failed me yet. Thanks for a great recipe. This is i of the all-time on this site.

I besides thought this was a tad vinegary. I volition probably make this once more and reduce the vinegar a bit. Overall, very good for my second try at homemade BBQ sauce. Much better than the beginning recipe I tried!

This was really succulent and my 4th of July guests commented favorably, including abrasive picky husband. One matter that might exist helpful to others - the day I made it I put in too much vinegar - I doubled the recipe and instead of the last 1/2 cup, probably put in three/4 loving cup. I tasted the sauce as information technology was cooking and kicked myself for being careless with the stuff as the vinegar was so pronounced. Simmered 45 minutes, cooled and refrigerated. Mixed it up the next 24-hour interval with pulled pork - and the abrupt vinegar character had faded. In fact, and so much so that the intense flavors on Twenty-four hours 1 were quite muted on Day two. Both skillful - merely dissimilar. Hugs to Large Al!

This recipe is for lack of the perfect word GREAT. You lot tin never brand plenty. I cooked for a grand opening for a little sports pub and cooked 240 lbs of chicken 20 gals of BBQ beans and two beefiness loin (flay minions) on my grill and finished it off with this. I could not believe it. I am not a big fan of vinegar base BBQ sauce until this 1 information technology changed my mind. First fourth dimension I made it was cooking for a few days y'all know making lunch and dinner for a couple of days. This sauce was so good the only thing that stopped me from eating all of my next couple of day meals was I was likewise stuffed to eat whatever more had to terminate. I make information technology at a gallon at a time not expensive and seem to go along for some time in the refrigerator. Just fallow the recipe it's sweet with a little bit of a vinegar tang and has a fiddling bite at the end. But all in all OH YES this is a keeper.
